Our first stop is the quaint Lethbridge at Hat Rock Vineyard that was planted in 1996 to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It is named after a geographical feature resembling a hat and is planted on black basalt derived clay soil type. The second stop is at the beautiful Scotchmans Hill Vineyard in Drysdale. With plantings dating back to the early 1980's, they are one of the oldest vineyards on the peninsula. They're a consistently solid producer of pinot noir and chardonnay especially and provide an excellent range of wines, from easy to drink now styles through to those with some added complexity. A short drive away is the Jack Rabbit Vineyard where lunch could be enjoyed in their light filled restaurant that affors delightful views acroos Corio Bay to Melbourne. Post-lunch, consider visitin The Whiskery or another vineyard before the return to Southbank.
