We start our day around 9:00am and travel through Melbourne's eastern suburbs enroute to the Mornington Peninsula which is located to the south-east. The first stop for the day is the Yabby Lake Vineyard. Established in 1998 the vineyard produces consistently good wines from both estate and regional grown grapes. These include Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
A short drive away is the Crittenden Estate Vineyard at Dromana. One of the first commercial vineyards on the Peninsula, their origins go back to 1984 so some of the oldest vines are producing exceptional quality fruit. After the tasting, continue through to the quirky Quealy Vineyard at Balnarring. With an interest in Italian inspired wines, their approach is a little left of centre and will leave an impression. Cheese platters will enhance the tasting.
Close by is the Merricks General Store where a relaxed a la carte lunch in rustic surroundings will be enjoyed. The days concludes up the hill at Ten Minutes by Tractor.
