Known for its beautiful beaches, the Mornington Peninsula is Melbourne’s most popular holiday destination. Surrounded by ocean and bay waters on three sides, the maritime influence on wine and food production is unique. Going behind the scenes on this Premium Daytour will showcase the garden fresh produce that the Montalto chefs have at their disposal together with the varietal differences of the wines at each of the 3 vineyards.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Montalto Restaurant & Vineyard
    • Crittenden Estate Vineyard
    • Quealy Vineyard

The day starts at 9.30am, travelling to the south-east of Melbourne along the coast past Melbourne's beachside suburbs and then head inland to our first stop for the day, Montalto Vineyard. Established in 1998 by the Mitchell family, Montalto is synonymous with quality, from their beautifully crafted wines to their award winning restaurant. Wander through the garden to pick the produce for lunch, enjoy a private wine tasting overlooking the vineyard before settling into a 5 course lunch matched to estate wines.

A short drive away is the family owned Crittenden Estate Vineyard. Established in 1984, they're considered one of the pioneering families of the region and with some of the oldest vines on the Peninsula, are producing elegantly powerful wines. The day's final visit is to the quirky Quealy Vineyard at Balnarring. With a focus on Italian inspired wines, their approach is a little left of centre and will leave an impression.
